AI discriminates. Nothing else :)

Yes, you read that correctly. The essence of what AI does involves discrimination. In today’s IT industry, anyone not discussing AI is treated as if they do not exist within the sector. Consequently, everyone talks about it, but not everyone fully comprehends it.

Although AI has existed in various forms for decades, Large Language Models (LLMs) have recently garnered significant attention worldwide. Many believe LLMs epitomize AI, which is partly true. LLMs incorporate algorithms, which are fundamental components of AI.

LLMs provide an interface for interacting with the underlying algorithm. When a question is posed, the algorithm processes (or tokenizes) the question and compares it to its training data.

At a high level, this comparison assesses whether the input matches or how closely it resembles the trained data. Essentially, it discriminates (compares) to determine similarity to the trained data. The algorithm’s confidence level is then expressed based on this closeness. You may need to understand a few more finer details and that’s for the savvy. To qualify to be part of the industry and AI world this would help 🤪
