Any change in leadership will always have a significant impact on an organization, which can be positive or negative. However, there will be an immediate slowdown for at least a few weeks to months, mostly months and that’s depending on the new leader.

Regardless of the new leader’s strengths, it will take time for the people to process the departure of the previous leader and adapt to the new leadership style.

OpenAI is at a critical juncture. The competition is fierce and many are chasing after them. This is unfortunate for any organization that is about to grow.

It appears that Microsoft will drive the vision forward.
