Did you hear that? Is that loud and clear? Yes, now you can share text without sharing videos on TikTok. Not just videos, indeed, anything can be published. In a matter of time, it can be another Twitter or, with some tweaks, even WhatsApp – a messaging app (I know I am a bit overstating, but that’s not far off). That’s the power of building a platform when you make it a platform.

Many of us are involved in building platforms, and honestly, how many of them are real platforms? It’s high time to review the features and configurability of your system. Most importantly, not every other application needs to be a platform. If your application has very limited features of a platform no harm in calling that out. You can always find another reason for budget approval 😊, so let’s not butcher the technology. 

Setting a wrong expectation could overshoot the budget, and the funny thing is that a misstep like that is mostly never openly admitted. Have you ever been forced to be part of any such notable journey 😉?
