Artificial Intelligence – A Fortune teller

AI/ML plays a huge role in today’s human life. The effectiveness and impact of AI/ML applications are becoming debatable and they vary based on the context.

If an AI system needs a human intervention to decide and act then should that be called Artificial Intelligence? Having said that even humans can’t predict accurately with their super intelligence in many cases. So 100% accuracy is not the expectation but expecting a human to intervene and interpret the AI prediction can’t be qualified as AI?

Albeit the debate of the effectiveness of an AI can continue for good, the impact in humankind is noteworthy. AI/ML systems are playing a massive role in healthcare. There are plenty of cruel diseases like cancer can be prevented and cured if identified at an early stage. Dealing with those diseases would not just erode the wealth, it puts the life on the line. If someone can predict and help to prevent then should be called as a fortune teller. isn’t it?

We don’t need 100% prediction here. Even 30 or 40% of prediction makes a huge impact on someone’s life. AI systems may stay as a supportive system for a longer term but let’s not forget it enhances confidence on your decision. AI gives the data to rationalize decision and in particular to trace back to the decision points. That embraces conscious reinforcement learning to the system and the user. The AI system eliminates human dependency and can replicate a solution on a global scale.

Building an AI system shouldn’t cost you a fortune but saves a fortune
